Nutrients and other food components influence the function of the body, protect against disease, restore health, and determine your response to changes in the environment. Food is a source of nourishment. Your body uses food to provide your cells with essential nutrients and fuel for energy, growth and repair. Yet, optimal health is governed by not only what we eat, but also by underlying issues and inherited tendencies.

A Nutritional Therapy consultation is holistic and patient-centred. It is focused on identifying and addressing the underlying issues that are causing sub-optimal health. Nutritional Therapy is never restrictive. It acknowledges and appreciates each human being as individual and biologically different. Nutritional Therapy is curious, it digs deep. The mission is to find the root cause of what brought you to where you are at. Be that with a specific physical or mental condition, too much weight or food intolerances to name a few.
The body is an incredible gift with immense abilities and self-healing powers. But for these to manifest and help you be your healthiest version, a fertile soil needs to be cultivated. Just like a beautiful garden of vegetables or flowers, the soil of your body needs to be maintained, cleansed, fed and watered. This applies to everyone. Not just the person on a pizza and coke diet. Even the person on a subjectively “perfect” diet needs to tend to their soil. And the reason I say subjective is the fact that just because the latest study said a specific diet is good for you doesn’t mean it is for YOU specifically. We are all biologically different and for optimal health you want to be eating what’s good for YOUR body.
