Now, I have recently discovered a tea made with cinnamon barks.. and I fell in love! You only need cinnamon barks and boiling water. It's deliciously aromatic and naturally sweet - you'd actually think there is sugar added.
It will satisfy your sweet tooth or craving and at the same time regulate your blood sugar. Cinnamon is also very helpful to reduce inflammation in your body. All of us have come across some degree of inflammation, some more than others, without even noticing. It's an essential mechanism of the body to fight infections, heal injuries, deal with stress, toxins and environmental pollutants. However, if there is too much inflammation it can have severe affects on your health, especially when it becomes chronic. This can have effects on cellular level and has been linked to various degenerative diseases such as cancer, heart disease or diabetes. The standard Western diet, high in refined sugars and carbs, alcohol, gluten and fast food is very likely to cause inflammation in the body. So we want to keep our inflammation on a low by eating lots of anti-inflammatory foods such as cinnamon. Others are Omega 3 Fatty Acids which can be found in oily fish or flax seeds, garlic, turmeric, ginger, fresh fruits and veggies or green tea. You can buy cinnamon barks from your local Indian supermarket, they have tons! They use it for cooking or for their signature Chai teas. Or order it online, various websites supply cinnamon bark. Cheers!
